This example only demonstrates the use of blockingMapped. Considering that the QtConcurrent::mapped~ functions are already included in the wordcount example, and have very similar APIs to the QtConcurrent::filter~ functions, which are included in the progressdialog example, this no longer serves a useful purpose. Qt 4 extends Qt's support for multithreaded applications with an API for concurrent programming which includes implementations of the well-known map-reduce and filter-reduce algorithms. Documentation for these examples can be found via the Examples link in the main Qt documentation.
