From 450e9b6b30a043ca7acaabc0d0447d326aa46362 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: "gkodinov/kgeorge@macbook.gmz" <> Date: Tue, 23 Jan 2007 19:45:58 +0200 Subject: [PATCH 1/2] Bug #6172: RAND(a) should only accept constant values as arguments RAND() must accept scalar expressions regardless of their kind. That includes both constant expressions and expressions that depend on column values. When the expression is constant the random seed can be initialized at compile time. However when the expression is not constant the random seed must be initialized at each invocation (while it still can be allocated at compile time). Implemented the above rules by extending Item_func_rand::val_real() to initialize the random seed at the correct place. --- mysql-test/r/func_math.result | 45 +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++---- mysql-test/t/func_math.test | 24 +++++++++++++++---- sql/item_func.cc | 36 +++++++++++++--------------- sql/item_func.h | 2 ++ 4 files changed, 78 insertions(+), 29 deletions(-) diff --git a/mysql-test/r/func_math.result b/mysql-test/r/func_math.result index 9a2c55b802d..565c283ee83 100644 --- a/mysql-test/r/func_math.result +++ b/mysql-test/r/func_math.result @@ -177,11 +177,46 @@ drop table t1;
